How To Connect M-Audio Trigger Finger To Reason 4.0

January 19, 2010

I had some trouble with this today so I thought I would post about it. I’ll try to make this as simple and short as possible. The M-Audio Trigger Finger

  1. First, connect your Trigger Finger.
  2. Open Reason, go to Preferences.
  3. Once Preferances is open, click the Top Drop-down box.
  4. select Keyboards and Control Surfaces.
  5. In the new window, for Manufacturer:, select M-audio.
  6. for Model, select <Other> (MIDI Control Keyboard) and click “ok” and close.
  7. Open ReDrum,
  8. On your Trigger Finger, push the button in the upper-left labeled “Memory Recall”, and then push the upper-right button which is pad 16. This should set the trigger finger to the proper preset so that ReDrum can accept incoming MIDI signals.
  9. In ReDrum, UNCHECK the box in the lower left corner that says “Channel 8&9 Exclusive”.

Ta-Da! There you go, should work, if not then you will need more help than I can offer lol, the problem would probably be in MIDI channels getting sent to the wrong place or something like that. Well, I hope this helped!
